With its frame made of Toray’s premium T700 and T800 carbon fiber, the “Bootie CF” is built to fit suspension forks with 120 millimeters of travel or a Carbon Rigid fork. From the boost front and rear axles and internal cable routing to the direct post mount brake mounts in the rear and the tapered head tube, the frame comes with all the contemporary standards that define plus bikes. As for the bottom bracket, Fatlab has opted for BSA73’s proven reliability. The round seat tube allows for the mounting of a front derailleur, while the rear triangle offers plenty of clearance for tires with a dimension of 27.5×3.0 inches or 29×2.4 inches, alternatively. With Fatlab’s own rigid carbon fork, the “Bootie CF” can easily be built up to weigh less than 10 kilograms or 22 pounds. And thus this bike proves that plus-sized bikes can be seriously lightweight and still offer plenty of cushioning for tough terrain. |
